Downtown streets are the canvass for chalk art festival

LAS CRUCES - Street artists labored from early morning to late afternoon Saturday to create masterpieces for the new AvenueArt New Mexico festival in downtown Las Cruces. Bob Diven, whose award-winning chalk drawings inspired the festival, said organizers hope it will become an annual event that attracts top street-art talents.
