Federal money boosts ABQ public transportation

Posted at: 05/17/2011 6:16 PM By: Crystal Kobza, KOB Eyewitness News 4 Getting around Albuquerque will get easier for many who use ABQ Ride or the Rail Runner and live or work in the North Valley and it's all thanks to a multi-million dollar grant given to the city. The Federal Transit Administration awarded 6.7 million dollars to the City of Albuquerque to build a Montano bus and rail runner stop, providing a new connection. "Were making it easier, more convenient and of course with the price of gasoline and the price of being away from your family, it's putting a few extra dollars in your wallet," said Mayor Richard Berry. The construction of this new facility will be build right at Montano and the rail runner crossing, what has been an empty lot for years. ...
