Male rape figures climb in US Military

Albuquerque Express Friday 15th April, 2011

Over 100 US male soldiers have claimed they were sexually assaulted in 2010 while serving in the military.

The Pentagon has warned the number of victims is likely to be much higher due to fear of reporting.

Many soldiers have held back allegations in the past as they didn't wish to reveal that they had been sexually assaulted.

Analysts have said the men who commit sexual assaults claim to be heterosexual.

Earlier this year, the Pentagon acted slowly on complaints by a group of female veterans over rape and sexual harassment in the services.

Nearly one in every five women in the US Air Force has reported being sexually abused.

One in every 15 male soldiers has made a similar claim.

On that day, Mladic began his full participation in a criminal endeavour that was already in progress. On that day, he assumed the mantle of realising through military might the criminal goals of ethnically cleansing much of Bosnia. On that day he commenced his direct involvement in serious international crimes.
