KABUL, Afghanistan - An attack on a convoy during the peak morning rush hour in Kabul has killed at least a dozen civilians and wounded 20 others.
The convoy involving a Canadian private security company was targeted by a car bomb which exploded causing widespread destruction within the convoy but also killing and injuring bystanders, including three children walking to school.
The attack took place in the Qasaba area in the capital's police District 15.
Neither the Taliban or Islamic State have claimed responsibility for the attack.
"The enemies of our people should know that our people are determined for peace. Nothing can stop them from achieving peace," the Afghan Interior Minister Massoud Andarabi said Wednesday.
4 foreign staff of the private Canadian security company GardaWorld were among those wounded, Marwa Amini, an Interior Ministry spokesman said Wednesday.
GardaWorld is the largest privately owned security company in the world with a staff of 92,000 and branches in 450 cities globally.
