Founded in 2014 by Kelsey Gilbert-Kreiling and Mallory Ulaszek, Week of the Website has turned the agency model on its head, revolutionizing the web design process through open collaboration, transparency, creativity, care and a whole lot of joy. To date, they have launched over 700 websites with clients that have included taste-making chefs, best-selling authors, policy experts, non-profit organizations, notable artists, award-winning actors and more. In this episode, Mallory and Kelsey discuss how they got started building their brand, how they created their signature one week website design process, and how they managed to become the most trusted Squarespace design agency primarily by word of mouth.
"The only way we were going to be able to do this was by using a lot of automations, a lot of systems. And we were thinking about scalability before we even needed to scale because we were working with contractors. So we had to write our process down in order to have something like a guidebook for people to come back to when they're like, 'what am I supposed to be doing next?' So, we were thinking about this from day one," explains Mallory Ulaszek, co-founder of Week of the Website. In 2014, co-founders Mallory Ulaszek and Kelsey Gilbert-Kreiling took a $2,500 investment each and turned it into an incredibly successful brand built solely on the process. With over 700 successful website launches to date, Week of the Website is the most innovative, trusted and loved Squarespace design agency for creatives. Come on in and see how Mallory and Kelsey are disrupting the web design process.

Podcast Quotes:
"We didn't know we would work with Lucy Liu. We didn't know we would work with Jenny Han. We didn't know that we would bring Jessica Nobles' website to life when she was taking Luckiest Girl Alive to Netflix. So, it's been a wild ride." (12:47-13:07 | Kelsey)
"When you're doing design in a really fast turnaround, you have to establish trust and comfort with your clients." (16:42-16:48 | Mallory)

So we had to write our process down in order to have something like a guidebook for people to come back to when they're like, what am I supposed to be doing next? So, we were thinking about this from day one." (34:16-34:39 | Mallory)
"You will not be the person doing the thing forever. You have to build a business that has meaning to you outside of just the thing that you make or the thing that you do." (53:39-53:50 | Kelsey)
"There are going to be ups and downs, and you can't let them knock you off balance. Hold on tight to your core values as a company. Cling to what you know is your North Star." (1:00:21-1:00:28 | Lindsay)
